The ACS is pleased to announce that, with immediate effect, a team of three senior Australian academics has been appointed to lead the series as editors for the next three years. The team is:
Professor Vladimir Estivill-Castro from Griffith University, Queensland.
Professor John Roddick from Flinders University, South Australia.
Professor Simeon Simoff from the University of Western Sydney. Professor Simeon Simoff joined UTS in 2000 and became Leader of the e-Markets Research Group - an international reference lab in the area of intelligent trading technology. Between 2000 and 2005 he was an Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering. He has initiated and co-chaired several well-established now conference series, including the ACM SIGKDD Multimedia Data Mining series, the Visual Data Mining series and the Australiasian Data Mining AusDM series. He is a co-founding Director and Fellow of the Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia (IAPA). His interdisciplinary scholarship blends unstructured data mining and visual analytics, multimedia virtual environments, and design computing, all in the context of electronic markets.
The CRPIT series aims to aims to facilitate the dissemination of proceedings from peer-reviewed conferences in all areas of ICT and currently publishes volumes in areas as diverse as database systems, user interfaces, computer theory, computer security, safety critical systems and conceptual modelling. It has now published approximately 60 volumes including almost 1,300 papers by almost 2,000 different authors.
